Albert Haynesworth, Spokesperson

As a junior at Hartsville High School in South Carolina, Albert led the team to state championship in Class 4A. As a senior, Albert earned Super-Prep All-America and he was listed on ESPN's top 100 players in nation as well as being named by the National Recruiting as best defensive tackle. Haynesworth then attended the University of Tennessee where as a three-year letterman. He was named Sporting News Freshman All-American and Knoxville News-Sentinel Freshman All-Southeastern Conference selection and Second All-Team Southeastern Conference after junior year. During his college career, Albert compiled 66 tackles, five sacks, 31 quarterback pressures, 20 stops behind line of scrimmage and nine pass deflections
Although Albert is gaining respect for his on-field performance and an early favorite for the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year, he has quietly committed to redeeming his reputation for past mistakes. Albert has devoted himself to showing that he is a person of character off the field.
In January 2008, before heading to Hawaii for his first career Pro Bowl appearance, Haynesworth held a free meet and greet/autograph session thanking hundreds of fans for their support of the All-Pro defensive tackle. The event raised money for the March of Dimes through optional donations.
With support from his teammates and celebrities from the music and NASCAR industry, Haynesworth has hosted the "Dining for Dimes" celebrity dinner/ auction benefiting the March of Dimes for the past three years. After his upcoming event in November, the culmination will have raised more than $200,000 to help prevent premature childbirths. In addition, Haynesworth continues to spend quality time supporting at-risk youth from the YMCA Community Action Project (Y-Cap) in Middle Tennessee.
Albert is a supporter of several other charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Keith Bulluck's Believe and Achieve Foundation for foster care children, the Nashville Sports Council, and Soles4Souls, an international charity dedicated to giving shoes to the needy, for which he recently hosted a shoe drive. He also took part in the Titans Caravan this summer and is actively involved in hospital and school visits. Along with his time, Albert donates thousands of dollars of autographed football items to various local and national charities.
Albert enjoys his free time with his two sons, Ahsharri (7) and Albert IV (2) and one daughter, Alanie (3). Albert's hobbies include anything with a motor. He collects unique cars and trucks and spends a lot of his off-season on his boat. Albert has future plans of entering the construction business as well as other business adventures once his playing days are behind him.
