How Do I Get Started?
You can start a chapter at your school by following these few simple steps!
- Apply online.
- While you are on our site, look around. Use our website as your primary source for information about the organization.
- Find people interested in joining your chapter.
Contact the student activities governing board at your school to find out how to start a club at your school, and to get school sponsorship.* This may be the Student Government, The Student Association, Student Activities Office, and etc.
This is a very important step. Different schools have different regulations pertaining to clubs. Read all the material given by your school to ensure that your club will meet the requirements of your school. Not meeting a school’s requirements may result loss of official recognition from the school.
*This is only necessary if you want to be a school sponsored chapter. Becoming a school sponsored chapter has many benefits, such as using school materials, property, or money. If you choose not to become a school sponsored chapter, please note some schools may not allow you to use their name in the title of the chapter. For instance Harvard may not allow nonschool sponsored clubs to be called the Harvard Chapter.
