Have Questions? Maybe we can help - FAQs
Can I drop off my shoes at the local drop off sites/participation locations found on Soles4Souls website, and still get credit?
No. These locations are for small donations only, of no more than 5 pairs per person. These locations do not accept shoes from program participants and shoe drives. Please ship or drop your shoes off at one of our warehouses.
If you and your chapter collect 25,000 pairs of shoes, and they are all in ONE location, Soles4Souls will come pick them up for free. The shoes must be palletized and shrink wrapped, and volunteers must be available to help load the truck. You will also need a forklift, or a pallet jack and loading dock. Pallet dimensions are: 52 pallets, 4 feet tall.
If you choose to ship your shoes, it will cost on average about $1 per pair. Please contact Unishippers, our preferred shipping company, at 877-791-7447 to receive this discount.
What is the difference between a drop-off site, a warehouse site, and the distribution site?
Drop-off sites, also called participation locations, only accept small donations of no more than 5 pairs per person.
Warehouses are locations where participants will ship or drop off shoes. If donors are dropping the shoes off, they must call ahead to schedule a drop-off time.
Alabama is Soles4Souls World Distribution Center. All shoes, whether they are sent to other warehouses, will ultimately go to Alabama before being sent to their final destination point.
Is there a tax deduction form with a Soles4Souls logo I can give to my clients?
Yes! Please send your clients to our website form.
How will the chapter get credit and who’s keeping the tally?
Each PO will keep track of the number of shoes they collect using the donor information form. The PO that collects the most shoes will receive recognition at next year’s conference and a trip for two to Haiti with Soles4Souls.
Each chapter will total the number of shoes collected from each PO to obtain the chapter total. The winning chapter will receive recognition at next year’s convention.
What is the required procedure for the Donation form?
First, print off two copies of the donor information form. Complete one form and send to Nicole Langford at nicolel@giveshoes.org or fax to 615-391-5730. Then, complete another form and include it in the shipment of shoes you send to the warehouse. PLEASE INCLUDE ONE DONOR FORM IN EVERY BOX YOU SEND. This will the only way Soles4Souls will know who the shoes came from, and who to send a thank you letter to!
Can I FAX the donation form to you?
Yes. Please fax to Nicole Langford’s attention at 615-391-5730.
Should I tie the pairs, and do you have a preferred method?
Yes. Each pair needs to be bound together either by its shoelaces or with a rubber band.
Will you take soles with holes?
Yes! Shoes that cannot be worn any longer will be sent for recycling.
Should I try to clean them?
No. Please send the shoes as they are. We will accept any and all shoes, with the exception of muddy and moldy ones. When shoes are cleaned improperly, mold can grow and spread to other shoes, and ultimately prevent us from distributing them.
For more information, please contact Nicole Langford at Nicolel@giveshoes.org.
