Overview
Tamil Nadu lies on the southern tip of India. Its official language is Tamil. Tamil Nadu does not have an official religion; however, nearly 90% of Indians are Hindu. 5% are Muslim or Christian. Salem is in the center of Tamil Nadu. India has the second largest population in the world and the largest orphan population. The caste system and poverty leaves countless children without a future. We are partnering with India Christian Mission Center and providing shoes and clothing to the orphans. On this 10 day trip we will lodge at the ICMC guest rooms. This trip will consist of shoe and clothing distributions, spending time in the local community, and playing with the children.
Prior to your trip you will receive a detailed informational packet that includes a detailed itinerary, history and cultural facts, recommended immunizations, trip details and helpful tips to assist you in preparing for this experience of a lifetime.
We will have layover in Brussels, Belgium for a day which allows participants to learn about 2 cultures in one trip. Your hotel room in Brussels will be covered in the trip cost. However, participants will need to be extra funds to cover meals, transportation, etc. while we are in Belgium.

Purpose of the Trip
The purpose of for this trip is to allow team members to experience firsthand Changing the World One Pair at a Time. Your work will focus on serving the needs of the orphans by providing individual attention in fitting them with clothes and shoes - the first pair many will own.
You will need your passport at least 3 months prior to this trip in order to obtain a Visa. You will also be responsible for obtaining a visa for India in time for the trip. *A Soles4Souls representative will be assisting you with this process.

Fees Include
Roundtrip airfare between the distribution location (India) and predetermined departure (JFK). Travelers are responsible for any costs associated with arriving at the predetermined departure location. Shipping cost of shoes/clothes, lodging, meals, ground transportation, security, traveler’s insurance, supplies for various projects, cultural activities and welcome package.
