H & R Block Announces Tax Season Partnership
H&R Block and Soles4Souls, Inc. today announced a new fundraising partnership where Soles4Souls will be awarded $25 for each new eligible client who has their tax preparation completed at a participating H&R Block retail office.
“We’re very excited to be partnering with Soles4Souls. Last year, almost 1,000 charitable organizations nationwide participated in H&R Block’s Non-Profit Referral Program,” said Gary LaRoy, H&R Block Spokesman. “Whether it’s free tax advice, a community service project or raising money for charity, giving back is part of H&R Block’s culture.”
“We are thrilled that a company like H&R Block has chosen to get behind our message of hope during this tax season,” says Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls. “We see this as a great way for us to raise money for our organization while knowing that our members will get the best expertise and knowledge on their taxes."
H&R Block will also be collecting gently worn footwear to ship the shoes to a person in need, whether they are victims of a natural disaster or subject to living in extreme poverty. It is estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unused shoes lying in their closets. The charity can use each and every one of these pairs to make a tangible difference in someone's life.
H&R Block’s Non-Profit Referral Program is available to certain 501c(3) organizations. To be considered for 2010, charitable organizations should contact their local H&R Block office.
