ROBERT FROST FINE FOOTWEAR ANNOUNCES SHOE DRIVE TO BENEFIT SOLES4SOULS AT TRAVERSE CITY AND PETOSKEY LOCATIONS
Northern Michigan residents are invited to recycle their 'gently worn' shoes for people in need
Traverse City, Mi., Soles4Souls and Robert Frost Fine Footwear will be collecting your gently worn footwear and/or monetary donations to ship the shoes to a person in need, whether they are victims of a natural disaster or subject to living in extreme poverty. It is estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unused shoes lying in their closets. The charity can use each and every one of these pairs to make a tangible difference in someone's life
Robert Frost Fine Footwear first opened its doors to Northern Michigan in the summer of 1998 in Bay Harbor. They moved to the Petoskey Gaslight District in 2004 and have opened their second location in downtown Traverse City in 2008. When the devastating earthquake hit Haiti, Robert Frost Fine Footwear decided to join forces with Soles 4 Souls, Inc. to help assist in the relief efforts. Robert Frost will be collecting new and ‘softly worn’ shoes at both store locations from March 1– May 1, 2010. Also, they will be hosting a Haitian Relief Spring Fling at the City Opera House in Traverse City on April 29. The Spring Fling will celebrate the community’s efforts. A catered spring fashion show featuring local retailers, a cash bar, and raffle featuring local products and services will further benefit Haiti survivors. Anyone who donates a pair of shoes to this great cause at either store location and/or mails his/her donation will receive a 15% discount at Robert Frost Fine Footwear/www.frostshoes.com and admission to the Spring Fling April 29th.
“We are excited to bring the community together to help the Haitian earthquake survivors. Our goal is to collect a 1000 pairs of men’s, women’s and children’s shoes. We truly believe that we can use our storefronts and Northern Michigan relationships to reach our goal and make a difference.” ~Joe Frost, Robert Frost Fine Footwear.
