Rogers Corp. Kicks off the New Year with Large Donation

Rogers Corporation Kicks Off The New Year With Large Donation of Insoles To Soles4Soles, The Shoe Charity

Soles4Souls is delighted to announce that Rogers Corporation, producers of PORON® Cushioning Materials (www.poroncushioning.com), donated more than 9,000 pairs of PORON Cushioning insoles for its international relief efforts.  The donation of PORON insoles will be sent to more than 1.5 billion individuals around the globe who do not own shoes and are at risk for diseases like hookworm and malnourishment.

“We are very happy to be able to support such a great organization and cause,” states Dave Sherman, Rogers’ New Business Development Manager. “Soles4Souls has helped millions of people across the globe and we hope our support will bring them one step closer to accomplishing their goals.

Soles4Souls has distributed more than 16 million pairs of shoes around the world with the help of partners like Rogers.  With 1 in every 4 adults in the world living in abject poverty, basic necessities like shoes are simply unavailable.  In developing nations like Haiti, Honduras, and Tanzania, walking is the main form of transportation, and shoes can protect a person’s feet from cuts and infections.

"We are thankful to our friends at Rogers for starting the 2012 year by giving back,” said Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls.  “Their donations will be used to bring hope to people around the world who can benefit from a pair of shoes in so many ways.”
