Soles4Souls announced that donated product bound for Guatemala has been detained at the border in Mexico.

“We have shipped tens of thousands of shoes to Mexico and through Mexico in this particular area and we are flabbergasted by the unreasonable treatment at the border that our partner Harvest Evangelism Ministries has received today” said Wayne Elsey, Founder/CEO.

Soles4Souls has been working through borders in this area for years going back to its’ infancy in 2006 and now the border patrol is demanding $10,000 in CASH to get the shoes and van out of the detained situation. In addition, authorities detained the missionaries themselves for over 12 hours until early hours, releasing them after 2:00 AM local time.

“Our partners have followed this route and process for years and nothing has changed, other than the mention that they were passing through to get these shoes to Guatemala and now they are being harassed,” said Elsey. “Our team is working diligently on helping work through this situation but will not back down to the outrageous demands of payment for this insanity,” added Elsey.

Soles4Souls Collecting Donations to Aid in the Relief Effort in Chile

 In response to the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile, the second country to be devastated by a quake in less than 8 weeks, Soles4Souls, the shoe charity, is asking the general public to help send aid to the survivors of this natural disaster.  For less than $5, people can make a difference in an individual’s life with the gift of shoes and clothing.

Village Northwest Unlimited serves as a donation processing center for Soles4Souls. VNU currently offers a wide array of services and training to more than 180 individuals with disabilities. The individuals have varying degrees of disabilities including intellectual disabilities, brain injury, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy, and range from ages 17 to 80.

Carlsbad, Calif./Nashville, Tenn. – February 25, 2010 – Green Day Bassist Mike Dirnt announced Monday that he will donate the royalty proceeds of his Macbeth Footwear collaboration to Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity, to help aid the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.  Soles4Souls has committed more than 1.3 million pairs of shoes to the devastated area. 

Macbeth Footwear introduced Mike Dirnt to Soles4Souls shortly after the brand first aligned with the charity organization and donated over 1,000 pairs of shoes.  When the events in Haiti brought to light the need for shoes in the ravaged area, Dirnt contacted Macbeth about donating the royalties of his Macbeth Studio Project shoes, totaling  $10,000, directly to Haitian relief efforts.

The Solebury Club will help collect footwear to support Soles4Souls’ commitment to donate more than 1.3 Million pairs of shoes to affected areas. Beginning Monday February 15th through Sunday February 28th , clients and the community of The Solebury Club will have the opportunity to drop off a gently worn pair of shoes. All donations will directly support relief efforts.

Soles4Souls has partnered with other organizations on the ground in Haiti to transport and distribute the aid. More than 120,000 pairs of shoes, including work boots, rain boots, children’s athletic shoes and clothing items, have already been distributed in Haiti.

International Shoe Charity to Acquire and Donate New Clothing

Pretend City Children's Museum Announces “Heeling Haiti” Shoe Drive in Partnership with Soles4Souls Inc.

 Pretend City Children’s Museum is partnering with Nashville-based Soles4Souls™, an organization that facilitates the donations of both new and used shoes, for “Heeling Haiti,” a shoe drive for Haitian relief. In response to a plea for slightly worn shoes, Foot Solutions appealed to its customers. Foot Solutions, Nassau, Bahamas received an overwhelming response with hundreds of pairs of footwear being donated. Over three hundred and fifty pairs were deemed suitable which were cleaned, sanitized, sorted and properly packaged by its staff for shipment to Haiti.

This initiative was done in collaboration with Sole4Souls, an international agency committed to providing one million pairs of shoes to help the survivors of Haiti’s Earthquake, one step at a time, one pair of shoes at a time.

Manhattan, KS – Soles4Souls and Maximum Performance Physical Therapy and Fitness www.maximumperformanceonline.net have joined forces to bring shoes to victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
 
Maximum Performance Physical Therapy and Fitness will collect footwear and funds to support Soles4Souls’ commitment to donate more than 1 million pairs of shoes to affected areas. Beginning February 22nd, through March 22nd, customers at Maximum Performance Physical Therapy and Fitness will have the opportunity to drop off a monetary donation as well as their gently worn shoes. All donations will directly support relief efforts.  The retailer will also offer a 10% discount on a new pair of footwear with the donation of a gently worn pair, at Manhattan Running Company.

Soles4Souls has partnered with Operation Compassion, a charity that mobilizes support for victims of natural disasters around the world, to transport and distribute the aid. Thirty containers of supplies, including work boots, rain boots, children’s athletic shoes and clothing items, are already en route to Haiti.

The death toll from the quake continues to rise, and survivors and rescuers are facing dire health conditions including stifling heat, lack of clean water, broken glass and raw sewage.

SHOE RETAILER SOFTMOC COLLECTS 210,000 PAIRS OF SHOES IN ONE WEEK FOR SOLES4SOULS® HAITI RELIEF EFFORT

Soles4Souls is delighted to announce that Softmoc has collected more than 200,000 pairs of shoes for Haiti Relief in just two weeks!  From January 15 through January 22, new and gently worn shoes were dropped off by the general public at all Softmoc locations throughout Canada.  All donations will be used for Haiti relief.

SoftMoc founders Bert & Sylvia Krista would like to thank ALL individuals across Canada who supported SoftMoc’s National Shoe Drive for Haiti. As a result of their contributions, SoftMoc was able to collect the largest number of shoes from a Canadian Corporation in Soles4Souls history. 210,000 pairs in total were collected in just under two weeks. Special thanks also go to UPS, Bowden and DelMar who assisted in shipping the shoes to Soles4Souls.

More than 120,000 pairs of shoes, including work boots, rain boots, children’s athletic shoes and clothing items, have already been distributed in Haiti.  The shoe charity announced it will continue to send shoes to the region throughout 2010 as part of their sustainable efforts to help Haiti in the rebuilding efforts.

NATIONAL RETAILER SPORT CHALET COLLECTS NEARLY

ONE MILLION PAIRS OF SHOES IN TWO WEEKS FOR SOLES4SOULS® HAITI RELIEF EFFORT

Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity dedicated to providing shoes to people in need, is delighted to announce that Sport Chalet has collected more than 950,000 pairs of shoes for Haiti Relief in just two weeks!  From January 14 through January 31, 2010, new and gently worn shoes were dropped off by the general public at all 55 Sport Chalet locations.

"They have proven, in an overwhelming fashion, that they are truly generous people who give from their hearts.  We had children, communities, schools, businesses and local organizations all rallying to donate their new and gently worn shoes. Soles4Souls had originally set a national goal to collect 250,000 pairs of shoes and Sport Chalet set theirs at 55,000 pairs.  After the first three days, Sport Chalet had collected nearly 70,000 pairs and therefore increased their personal goal to 250,000 pairs while Soles4Souls increased their national goal to 1.3 million.

One of the fastest growing charities in the world invites faithful to give up footwear during Sundays in April

Soles4Souls Inc, the shoe charity, issued an appeal today to churches across North America to participate in "Barefoot4Haiti," a campaign focused on engaging the faithful to donate gently worn shoes for victims of the January 12 earthquake in Haiti, which killed more than 200,000 people and devastated a country already reeling from natural and man-made disasters.

 Starting on Easter Sunday, April 4th, hundreds of church congregations will invite their members to leave their shoes on the altar in order to demonstrate God's love to the hurting people in Haiti.  The campaign will continue through May 2nd.  Churches interested in joining in on the efforts can visit www.barefoot4haiti.com to sign up.

We are having a fundraising comedy show on February 20, 2010 at The Warehouse 650 S. Bridge at 8pm tickets are $12 + a pair of shoes. All proceeds, from admission and refreshment sales will go to the earthquake victims in Haiti. Proceeds from the show will be donated to the American Red Cross and Foursqaure  Missions International.
We will also hold a shoe drive for Sole4Souls. We will be accepting gently worn men’s, women’s and kids’ shoes at the show. All shoes will be sent directly to Soles4Souls for distribution to the Haitian people.
