Ecuador straddles the equator on South America’s west coast. It is slightly smaller than the state of Nevada, yet encompasses the Andes Mountain range, the Amazon Rainforest, and the wildlife rich Galapagos Islands. It is one of the seventeen megadiverse countries in the world and boasts a population of over 15 million individuals of Indigenous and European descent.

This trip is available for ages 10 years and older. Those under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Price does not include domestic or international airfare.

Sample itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Quito, journey 30 minutes to the hotel to settle-in, enjoy a team meeting and rest up for a beautiful week of service.

Day 2 – Journey 1.5 hours to Hotel San Juan del Vega in Otavalo and explore the local craft market.

Day 3 – Meet the wonderful locals while giving them the gift of new shoes.

Day 4 – Another fun-filled day of distributing shoes to children and families.

Day 5 – Enjoy an unforgettable immersive cultural excursion (example: explore the cloud forest/ecological reserve with a bonus chocolate making tour, enjoy local hot springs or Volcano Lagoon hike).

Day 6 – An amazing day of quality time with the locals.

Day 7 – Visit the Equator ‘Middle of the World’ and return to Quito to explore before departures.

*This sample itinerary will change between now and the trip depending on our group and in-country partner’s availability. S4S will provide a final itinerary closer to the trip.

What do we do during the trip?
Each trip is different and unique. Our focus is providing footwear to those in need while spending time merging cultures and building relationships. On our trips, you will have the opportunity to experience and learn about a different culture first-hand.
How much does it cost to go on the trip?

Cost varies upon destination. They typically cost between $1,500 – $2,750. All payments and donations for trips are tax deductable.

Payment Schedule:

  • $250 non-transferable deposit due at the time of registration to secure your spot on the trip (Your deposit fee is included in the overall cost of the trip)
  • 1/3 cost of trip is due 90 days prior to the trip
  • 2/3 cost of trip is due 60 days prior to the trip
  • Total cost of trip is due 30 days prior to the trip

What’s included in the cost of my trip?
Lodging, meals, ground transportation, security, guides, excursion fees, travelers insurance, entry and exit fees, welcome package and materials, and a portion will go to offset the cost of shipping shoes.
How do we ensure safety on our trips?
For each trip, Soles4Souls partners with local leaders and organizations to plan and execute every detail of your trip. A travel coordinator will lead each trip along with a local guide from each country. Accommodations differ for each country and these are stated on the specific destination page. Accommodations are one of the following: hotel, guest home, community center and medical clinic. All food and water provided is safe to eat and drink.
What documents do I need?
A passport is required. Prior to your trip, you will receive a detailed information packet including an itinerary, history and cultural facts, recommended immunizations, packing list and helpful tips to assist you in preparing.
