Guatemala is the largest, most populated, and most impoverished country in Central America. Guatemala is known for its steep volcanoes, vast rainforests, and ancient Mayan sites. Although Spanish is the official language, more than 21 Mayan languages are also spoken there! Nearly 50% of citizens work in agriculture, and coffee is the country’s largest business.

This trip is available for ages 10 years and older. Those under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Price does not include domestic or international airfare.

Sample itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Guatemala City, journey 4 hours to City of Refuge to settle-in, enjoy a team meeting and rest up for a beautiful week of service.

Day 2 – Meet and play with the locals while distributing new shoes.

Day 3 – Experience an unforgettable morning giving the gift of shoes, then journeying to old city Antigua.

Day 4 – Enjoy an immersive cultural excursion (example: hike Volcano Pacaya, go zip-lining, make authentic Guatemala chocolate at Choco Museum or explore the ruins throughout Antigua) and shop at the local craft market.

Day 5 – Morning activity, check out and transfer to airport for afternoon departures.

Planning a group trip on your own can be complicated and frustrating. You have to keep track of participants’ paperwork and money, deal with endless questions, coordinate itineraries and navigate the inevitable hiccups along the way. Don’t worry, we’ll handle the details for you.
What do we do during the trip?
Each trip is different and unique. Our focus is providing footwear to those in need while spending time merging cultures and building relationships. On our trips, you will have the opportunity to experience and learn about a different culture first-hand.
How much does it cost to go on the trip?

Cost varies upon destination. They typically cost between $1,500 – $2,750. All payments and donations for trips are tax deductable.

Payment Schedule:

  • $250 non-transferable deposit due at the time of registration to secure your spot on the trip (Your deposit fee is included in the overall cost of the trip)
  • 1/3 cost of trip is due 90 days prior to the trip
  • 2/3 cost of trip is due 60 days prior to the trip
  • Total cost of trip is due 30 days prior to the trip

What’s included in the cost of my trip?
Lodging, meals, ground transportation, security, guides, excursion fees, travelers insurance, entry and exit fees, welcome package and materials, and a portion will go to offset the cost of shipping shoes.
How do we ensure safety on our trips?
For each trip, Soles4Souls partners with local leaders and organizations to plan and execute every detail of your trip. A travel coordinator will lead each trip along with a local guide from each country. Accommodations differ for each country and these are stated on the specific destination page. Accommodations are one of the following: hotel, guest home, community center and medical clinic. All food and water provided is safe to eat and drink.
What documents do I need?
A passport is required. Prior to your trip, you will receive a detailed information packet including an itinerary, history and cultural facts, recommended immunizations, packing list and helpful tips to assist you in preparing.
